Our Soccer Sitter

So Barbara and I decided that since Mayce and Mirhonda had such a good time when they took swimming together that we would give soccer a try. It took some manuevering but we eventually were able to get the two on the same team and in an instance the Tigers had two more three year olds. Poor Coach Ray!!

We should have known that soccer was not going to be Mayce's thing when she was far more interested in picking flowers in the middle of the field than kicking her ball (yes I know it's pink). I think Buck has a harder time with this than I do and I have to laugh when we run into people and they ask how its going. Buck just looks down, shakes his head and grins! Way too funny!

The night before their first game Auntie Barbara was brave and held her first slumber party! Mayce, Mirhonda, and her friend Kiera all hung out, went bowling, watched movies, and stayed up late running around and falling off beds. Needless to say they were a little less than bright eyed and bushy tailed at the game although they were for this picture!

As the season has progressed Mayce has well...not. She plays great during practice but the whole game situation is less than appealing to her. Apparently she has better ways to spend her Saturday mornings! So instead of a soccer player we have a soccer sitter. She "plays" in each game but only if Coach Ray will hold her hand. If he doesn't she stands in the center of the field with her arms crossed over her chest and watches as everyone else runs past.

One thing she does approve of is snack time. Without fail whether it is a game or practice every time we head out she always asks whether or not there will be snack. We thought that perhaps this would serve as an incentive to actually play so we told her that the snacks were only for soccer players not sitters. I don't think I need to tell you that our plan failed miserably!

Even though she doesn't actually run or kick the act of being "so over it" is exhausting I guess. I told Buck its a good thing she's cute because she sure isn't gaining points with her game. Whatever she has going for her works though because last week she got her first kiss...on the soccer field.

Update

So I know that once again its been awhile but things have been hectic to say the least!!! We had our 24wk appointment on Wednesday and Dr. Harlass was pleased with the way everything is progressing. He was called out on a delivery in the middle of our appointment but at least I was able to get all (yes I do mean all...I had so many I had to write them down) of my questions in before he left.

I was under the impression that I would receive my last shot during my 35th week however he informed me that it will actually be during my 34th. He said if I go into labor anytime between then and 38wks that they will let everything progress naturally but if I go in for my 38wk appt. and I am at all dilated then they will induce me at that point. So it is looking like this little girl will be here anywhere from the week of Christmas to the 2nd week of January.

For those of you who don't know we have decided on a name and have agreed to tell everyone the first. This is in all honesty due to to the fact that I was going to slip because I don't think of her as the baby I think of her as...

ANSLEY!
We do have a middle name selected however we are trying to keep that to ourselves until her arrival. We have to have something to hang on to right?

Mayce is WAY excited and helped me decide that Ansley's room should be green. Hopefully it will turn out cute, I feel a little bad but I didn't want two PINK rooms in our house!! After looking at over 5,000 bedding sets I finally found something that I like so everything should start coming together soon!!!
