Thrills...

So on Thursday Ansley had her two month appointment with Dr. Paul and Buck made his second visit to the clinic. Ansley's visit was a joy as she weighed in at 11lbs 3.2oz and 23 inches placing her in the 50th percentile for weight and the 75th for height. What a blessing!! The little, or should I say big bit gained 2 and a half pounds and grew an inch and a half! YAY ANSLEY! Dr. Paul was very pleased and told us to keep on keepin' on.
Its amazing how much she has changed even in the past week. She is now a smiling, cooing little girl who is more and more alert throughout the day and for the past two nights sleeping through the night!!! PRAISE GOD!
I really think that she probably would have done it earlier but she makes these noises that lend themselves to waking up (or so one would think) so I would just go get her however, if you leave her alone she falls back asleep. Now I will admit that I am not holding my breath for this to continue but the last couple of nights of uninterrupted sleep have been...fabulous!
As you can tell the girl loves the camera and any time I pull it out she just stares and stares. Which although cute does make it hard to catch her in action!!

Give Me an...M!!!

So we have been working with Mayce on spelling her name and in the past week something has clicked! Here she is, so loud and so proud!

Extra!! Extra!! Read all about it!

Wow!!! It has been quite the week to say the least. Saturday we went to Chance’s 2nd Birthday Party, I still cannot believe that he is that old! It was tons of fun and he had a fire engine cake which was way too cute. As always Ansley was quite the hit with the little girls and grown up girls alike. Jasmine was so excited that she held her hand… After the party the boys had another basketball game at the old church (for those of you who are wondering, yes, Mayce did try the gum trick again) and they played…better. The wives decided that they must have a player named Sid though because they kept throwing the ball to someone we didn’t know (couldn’t see either)! Needless to say we found this much more humorous than our husbands but isn’t that how most things work?Buck and I haven’t been able to see each other much over the past week due to his shift work so Sunday we ran away together and headed to El Paso. We needed prizes for the crew party and clothes for Ansley so the hunt was on. Unfortunately both were a bit more extensive than planned but at least we found what we needed in the end. I must admit however that I was very frustrated with the process. Not so much with the prizes but certainly with the clothes. Honestly, 90% of the cute outfits I found were not available in the size I needed. I just don’t get it is there all of a sudden a run on 3-6month clothing? After our hard day of shopping we stopped for dinner and ice cream and headed home. We came home more tired than we were when we left but grateful for the time that we were able to spend together.Monday night was the crew party for the new store so we packed up the prizes, picked up the cakes, and headed to the store.
It was so nice to spend time with my family and the aunties while we watched everyone’s faces as they saw the interior for the first time. The party went great and Mayce decided to get in on the action as they drew numbers for prizes. She watched my mom and Rhonda once or twice and then decided that she had a handle on it. She would reach her hand in the cup pull out a ticket and then yell out random numbers. Amazingly enough once or twice she was extremely close, like the time she yelled “444!!!” and it was really 445.
Tuesday was relatively quite except for the fact that going grocery shopping with a 3 ½ year old and an 8 week old is less than ideal. It didn’t help matters that Ansley got hungry halfway through and that we had to wait in line for my prescription for almost fifteen minutes. I also braved the shoe store with Mayce who had previously informed me when looking at a pair of shoes that “I won’t wear those if you buy them.” However, we came out with the needed pair of tennis shoes without any issue and I must say that she chose well. (I did give her only two choices so her options were limited.)
Today was the day!!! The new store finally opened and thankfully we were all able to be there for the monumentous occasion.

My moms friend Wendy (who lives in WA) wanted to be the first one to place an order so she mailed it to my mom along with a five dollar bill.

It was too funny but her strawberry shake and cheeseburger was the first, they took it before they even opened the store!!! Just warning you Miss Wendy, the shake may be a little runny by the time it gets to you and you better make sure that you get your change too!

The opening went great and the store looked beautiful. Most of all though I think we were all reminded that things happen in God’s time not ours.
