My new LOVE

So part of the reason for my blogging blahs is that I have new love...SEWING!  This seems so strange even to me but there is something about watching an item come to life by your own hands that is absolutely amazing!
My first project...a crayon roll for Mayce.

This is absolutely fabulous at church and when we go out to eat.  No more searching for crayons and it's crazy cute.  GREAT COMBINATION!!

When I gave it to Mayce she looked at me and asked "Where did you get this?"  I happily responded "Well, I made it."  She stared at me in wonder.  Her response..."This is a magical night!"

She was still is not quite too sure what to think!

Next up was the burp cloths that I promised Katie in Oct.  So I was 4 months late...at least they are cute!

Then it was on to pillowcase dresses...these are actually the third set that I made.  I will have to take pics of the others and post them later.

Purple Banner had a giveaway over at cdycattle and the winner chose argyle stationary.  I wanted to make it a bit more special so I whipped up this very cute drawstirng bag.  I have since made a ditty bag for Mayce to put all of her ponies in but once again don't have a picture.

And last, but certainly not lease a camera strap for the dear Mrs. Bash.  This was actually supposed to be her Christmas present but hey like I said earlier, better late than ever.  Right?

I found this pattern and absolutely adore it so this is what I am trying next.  Scared, much?
You better believe it!

Better Late Than Never....

Twinkle Toes

One afternoon Mayce asked if we could paint our toes.  She was right we were all in need of a pedicure so when she aske if we could paint Ansley's too I quickly said yes.  Little bitty pink toes are cuter than cute but VERY hard to take pictures of!
Ansley was so cute!
For about an hour afterwards everytime she looked at her toes she would lean over and touch them.

She SO has my feet!

Tumbleweed Classic

Mayce and Snow White had their second jackpot on the 20th and they did GREAT!!!  Now you must understand that showing is synoymous with hard work in our family.  So her to be able to show she had to work her heifer every (almost) night last week.  She really wanted to go so she handled like a champ and did even better once we got in the ring.  Enjoy the pics...I am not sure why they are so grainy but if I figure it out I will upload them again.

Scratching her heifer.

Smiling at the judge.  (We have to work on this one ;))

Being four and so not paying attention.
The biggest problem is when she is in the ring she wants to talk...ABOUT EVERYTHING!

How Ansley spent the day...

Snow White even won Reserve Grand in the second ring so J3 had a good day too!  In case you are wondering Mayce does get paid for showing cattle.  $16 a show, win, lose, or draw.  From that she has to pay tithe, put $5 in savings, and she can spend the rest.  So far My Little Ponies have been her item of choice and thanks to some fabulous coupons she was able to buy 4 this time around!

Quick story and then I am to bed...
Buck and I were talking with Mayce one day about an allowance and how if she did all the things that she was supposed to, with a good attitude than she would be able to earn some money.
She thought about for a second and then looked at us said..."I'll just show cows."
